Stress.

There are certain types of people I find difficult to understand. One of these types are the type of people that stress over many insignificant things that do not need to be stressed about.

I have my own ideas about stress and I love to be as chilled out as possible all the time. The fact is I believe that stress doesn’t even really exist. Anything that can potentially cause “stress” is simply someone’s own portrayal of that “thing”.

For e.g. Someone walks onto the bus and sits next to you. They then begin fidgeting and play their music aloud.

Now most people in this situation would either get annoyed, agitated .. maybe punch that person in the face ..

BUT.

Is there really any need to let this “annoying” person affect you in any way at all?

You see, those who choose to let situations affect them are the ones that well, get affected. It’s actually quite easy just to sit back and think for a moment “do I really need to get annoyed over this?” and guess what? Most of the time that answer is no.

I can understand that some situations are naturally stressful; such as difficult decisions or unexpected unfortunate events. But my concept can still apply to these situations as well no? The fact is as long as you simply think “I don’t actually need to be stressed over this” everything becomes easier.

I don’t necessarily know if anyone who reads this post will actually understand it, but I’m simply giving my own perspective on this emotion everyone is so caught up in nowadays.

To finish off I guess I can say, stress can also have drastic effects on people’s health (in a negative way) so I can’t see why someone wouldn’t just try to be as chilled as possible.

  1. yes – I get perfectly what you are saying – i get stressed easily. and many times, after all is said and done, I stand there thinking why, why did i stress over something that was not necessary or worth it or …… I have tried letting go of certain stressors through the years, but like anything in life it is a challenge. :)
